There is a Texas-Sized Island of Plastic in the Pacific Ocean,
The Great Pacific Garbage Patch.
Scientists lament that nothing can be done to remove it.
4,017 California school students can prove them wrong...

 Recycle Now For Life

In 2005, a small public elementary school in Ventura, California
was going to cut its art program because of the loss of state funds.  Someone suggested raising the PTA dues to $6 a year,
" but the moms aren't even paying $4."  It was then suggested that
the school families pool their recycling to save the art program.
"That sounds like a big mess, Dr. Myers, but if you want to try..."

Since then, the students of Lincoln Elementary bring bags of recycling to school every day.  When the school's shed is full,
a recycling company hauls off the load, sorts the cans and bottles, and writes Lincoln PTA a check for $300-400.
Every two weeks.

Through recycling, the  students of Lincoln Elementary
have saved their art and music programs.

They have also redeemed over 70,000 pounds of trash.

Now, if
Renow4L has created a generation
of moms who will run five miles with a beer bottle,
and of kids who will cross a street to pick up a can,
how soon before they will cross many oceans?
